School Association – we are now taking orders…. fundraising with tea
towels (to create lasting memories)!
Table Cape Primary’s School Association would like to remind that they are running a Tea Towel Fundraiser to raise money for playground equipment.
Our limited-edition Tea Towel design will be made up of self-portraits drawn by all our children and staff. Just like a yearbook on a tea towel. The pictures and names will be arranged all together as a commemorative design then screen printed onto certified organic 100% cotton 50x70cm tea towels.
As well as being great for lint free dish drying, the tea towels look fantastic and are a long-lasting memento of your children and their friends. They make great gifts that are easily mailed to relatives, so make sure you order a few extras for family members and your keepsake box.
The kids just love seeing their artwork in print. By purchasing our tea towels you are not only receiving a practical keepsake, but you’re also helping to achieve our fundraising goal, which would not be possible without your support!
The price per towel is $15 each, CASH ONLY.
The Tea Towel print run will be limited so make sure you, your family and friends don't miss out. We will have an example tea towel on display near the School Office for you to see the quality and size.
Students and staff have commenced completing their self-portraits and today students have taken home an order form for families to purchase this unique item!
So… please return your order form with money to the School Office from the start of Term 4.
To ensure you don’t miss out on this special, limited-edition keepsake, all orders and payments must be returned to the school office by Tuesday 5 November.
2025 Planning and Consultation Phase
- Important communication regarding all current enrolments - An essential piece of information that directly affects us forming our 2025 classes, staffing and programs is having the most accurate information about our total student numbers.
- If you know that you will be moving and not be enrolled at our school for 2025, then please either inform me directly or advise the School Office (6442 3377) as soon as possible, as we urgently require this information prior to deciding and drafting 2025 classes. It greatly assists us to have the most accurate enrolment numbers to help forward class/school planning.
Important communication regarding a child’s educational needs - Our goal is to create the most equitable classes possible by balancing a range of needs including both learning ability and social connections. Whilst parents have one child to consider (in a given class), we have approximately 320 children to consider, so decisions need to be suitable for the majority.
We have dedicated, hardworking teachers who are collectively responsible for all children. No matter what grade or class, each child in this school will be taught by quality teachers in a school culture of high expectations.
Please understand, your child’s current class teacher is in the best position to formulate new 2025 class groupings; and in the latter half of next term, they will make the best decision for all children in the school. This includes making decisions based on the educational and social/emotional well-being of the majority of children.
Due to this we are unable to accommodate personal requests because accommodating everyone’s personal wishes will not support what is best for all children. Students will have the opportunity to write down friends that they would like to be placed with for 2025 and we will ensure that all students have at least one friend in their class.
If there is any special information that you feel is important for us to take into account (even if already shared with your child’s current class teacher) then please make contact with me (either in person, or by a phone call to school or thorough email lynette.grundy@decyp.tas.gov.au) by the end of the school day on Friday 1 November.
I thank you in advance, for your timely support of our important 2025 school planning processes that commence from the beginning of next term.

End of Term 3 Staffing Update
Thank You and best wishes to Mark Thomas who has been a temporary member of our Education Facility Attendant team over the past term. Mark’s quiet, capable and friendly manner has been appreciated by everyone as he has worked to help keep our grounds and school looking great. The EFA role selection process is in its final stages, and a new appointment announcement will be shared early in Term 4.
Term 4 starts on Monday 14 October… and it’s hats on for everyone from Day 1.
Please locate and pack your child’s school SunSafe hat ready for the first day of Term 4. Classes have a regular supply of sunscreen available for all student to apply; however, please remember to pack your child’s if they require an individual supply.
I wish our school community a ‘reenergising and enjoyable’ holiday break and let’s hope for many sunny days to ‘up lift us all’ and perhaps enjoy the local tulips too – stay safe and well everyone!
Independent Education Review
Have your say on the future of Tasmania’s education system
The Tasmanian Government has established an Independent Review of Tasmania’s education system to improve the education system over the next 10 years. And they want to hear from families, children and young people of all ages, and members of the community.
There are multiple ways you can get involved:
- Respond to the public Consultation Paper
- Complete the survey for educators, families and the community
- Complete the short survey for students
- Submit a creative response to the question (for children and young people only): Imagine yourself at the end of school, what have you learned, what have you achieved and who do you want to be?
Submissions responding to the Consultation Paper must be submitted by Sunday 13 October 2024, and all other consultation opportunities will close on Sunday 27 October 2024.
Visit the Independent Education Review website to learn more or email contact@ier.tas.gov.au.
