The weather is beginning to improve, Staff and Students are working hard and doing their best during this busy time.
Class Placements
Early in Term 4, our teachers will be meeting to organise class groupings for 2022. Our goal is to create the most equitable classes possible by balancing gender, learning ability, social connections etc. Whilst parents have one child to consider (in a given class), we have approximately 350 children to consider, so decisions need to be suitable for the majority. We have dedicated teachers who are collectively responsible for all our students. No matter what grade or class, each child in this school will be taught by quality teachers in a school cultured to high expectations.
Please understand your child’s current class teacher is in the best position to formulate classes and they will make the best decision for all children in the school. This includes making decisions based on the educational and social/emotional well-being of the majority.
Due to this we are unable to guarantee personal requests as these requests may not support what is best for all children. Students will have the opportunity to write down friends that they would like to be placed with for 2022 and we will ensure that all students have at least one friend in their class.
If there is any special information that you feel is important for us to take into account before we start creating classes, please make contact with me (in person, by phone or by emailing michael.van.der.ploe@education.tas.gov.au) by the end of term - Friday 24 September.
If you know that your child will not be attending our school for 2022, please also inform me about this important information. It greatly aids us to have the most accurate enrolment numbers to assist with class/school planning. I thank you all for your support as we begin our school planning for 2022.
Parent Survey
Each year the Department of Education conducts School Satisfaction Surveys in Tasmanian Government schools, to gain feedback on what you think our schools do well and where you think we may improve. We encourage you to complete the survey about Table Cape Primary School. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school planning and decision-making.
You can complete the online survey at any time until Friday 17 September. Survey link: https://ncv.microsoft.com/mVg2X1eRTA
All responses are anonymous and confidential with the survey carried out on a secure website.Feedback is only accessible to the school principal and teachers and relevant Department of Education staff, in online summary report formats with no individuals or families identifiable.
For any assistance, please contact Education Performance and Review by emailing: schoolsurveys@education.tas.gov.au.
Thank you for taking the time to fill in this survey.

Grade 5A and 5B would like to sincerely thank Mrs Michelle Laing-Hughes from Bunnings Burnie, who visited our school and kindly donated all the resources and her time to assist both classes to create Toolboxes for Father's Day. All involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I am sure there were some very happy Fathers on Father's Day.
Table Cape Primary are seeking donations of second-hand uniforms, particularly school shirts, jackets and boys shorts/trousers. These items are used in circumstances where a student has gotten wet, muddy etc. and cannot continue to wear the uniform they wore to school. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
